Day Out in Erith: Hand-made music

  • Erith Pier DA8 2AE (map)

We would like to celebrate the unique and inspiring landscape of Erith. This Saturday, families will be able to visit Erith Pier to see and take part in the inaugural Pier Commission created by artist Julia Snowdin, making hand-made musical instruments to create their own sea shanties in the Erith Lighthouse Café. Maps will be available from the Lighthouse to visitors who want to explore the other sites, for example the historic St John’s Church, the industrial waterfront walk or the marshes that are home to nature and industry.  Need sustenance?  Well, there’s chips from the Riverside Fish & Steak House, Pie and Mash from Raymond’s (at Nemesis Gym) or a brilliant ale from the 3-year-old Bexley Brewery.

Hand-made musical instruments will be available from 9.30AM to 12.30PM. This activity is a drop-in event, and FREE!

Please check other organisations' websites for their opening hours.
