Join us for a free mini Festival to celebrate the annual Dia de Muertos Festival held in Mexico.
There will be food and drink, music, craft workshops and the opportunity to create an ‘Ofrenda’ dedicated to the community’s loved ones. See below for the full programme.
This Festival is co-curated with local resident Sandra Hall.
6pm - 9pm - Mexican Food and Music
11 - 1pm - Papel Picado - A paper craft workshop
11 - 3pm - Felt flowers & skulls, creating a table runner for the “Ofrenda”
12pm - Tequila Bar Opens for Mexican drinks and snacks
12pm - Mexican Folk Dance Workshop
1 - 3pm - Floral head bands - to wear and take home
2 - 4pm - Sugar skull cookies - decorate to take home and eat
3pm - Mexican Folk Dance Workshop
4pm - Dressing the “Ofrenda” - using the crafts created in the workshops, and dedications to your loved ones
4.30pm - Mexican Folk Dance Performance, with dances from Jalisco and Veracruz
6pm - Mexican Menu as part of the Bookstore Suppers programme (please book here)
7pm - Mexican-inspired music
