A stunning 1945 American film noir from Director Billy Wilder is based on Charles R. Jackson’s 1944 semi-autobiographical novel about a writer battling with alcoholism. A massive commercial success at the time, but more recently praised for its cultural, historical and aesthetic significance. A must-see on the big the screen.
