True Fictions: Capote (15) (Friday 22 February, 7.30pm)

from 3.00

This film tells the incredible story of how Truman Capote came to write his non-fiction masterpiece In Cold Blood, and the dangerous way the quest for a story can take hold of a writer’s life. The much-missed Philip Seymour Hoffman won several awards for his portrayal of the American writer, including an Academy Award for Best Actor.

This film is part of a new film programme exploring cinematic portrayals of a diverse group of writers – including food, comic book, children’s book writers and poets, and exploring themes of loss, sexuality, fulfilment, dependence and star-crossed love.

Cinema snacks will be available from the new Bookstore Café at The Exchange.
