ENABLE LOCAL PROPAGATION

The Greenhouse was conceived and designed by Sarah Price who was inspired by the building’s history, in particular the work of the old library’s second librarian Florence Barton Young who initiated a Travelling Library Van service.

Detailed structural design was delivered by Bura Happold; the greenhouse was built by Surrey Iron Works and installed by Mark Whyman Landscapes.

The Greenhouse requires further work to make it fully functional, and so we are asking for The Greenhouse Patron to provide the funds to finish this work enabling a community propagation programme.

Support for the Greenhouse project is valued at £5k, and would include:

  • installation of final waterproofing and insulation

  • installation of retractable shade giving blinds

  • installation of suitable shelving, storage and a potting bench

  • equipment & materials purchase to enable a propagation programme

WHAT YOU WILL GET

To say thank you for your sponsorship, you will receive the following donor benefits:

  • Named Recognition as Greenhouse Patron for a minimum of 5 years

  • Your name embroidered on to the Greenhouse Page of a botanical book that will be on display, embroidered by Kathy Hampson.

  • One complimentary hire of The Garden Room, Pine Terrace & Fern Courtyard per year of support

  • Garden Patron+ Benefits (Annual Benefits and Party invitations every year of support)
