Make An Autumn Wind Chime

Create a seasonal hanging decoration inspired by the colours, textures and sounds of autumn in the garden at Erith.

Using natural materials like shells, dried flowers, feather and wood, participants will use simple hand tools to assemble different elements to create a unique wind chime to take home.

This hands-on workshop is a chance to slow down, get creative and connect with the natural materials found around us. No previous experience is needed, and you'll be guided through the techniques step by step.

This workshop - designed and delivered by Alice Ridgway - is a relaxed and creative way to celebrate the changing season and bring a little piece of the garden home.

Alice is a woodcarver and gilder, trained in ornamental woodcarving and gilding at City & Guilds Art School. Her practice combines traditional carving techniques with a contemporary approach. Before becoming a carver, Alice studied history and spent five years working with the collections at the V&A. She brings her love of art history into her welcoming, hands-on workshops, making traditional skills accessible and fun.
