Become A Maker
Becoming an Exchange Maker means you can learn craft skills, be part of a making community and help us to produce products that are both useful and beautiful. You will become part of a making team, supported by Exchange staff and other volunteers, and have the opportunity to work collaboratively with professional designers and craftspeople on incredible projects.
Anyone can apply to become a Maker! All you need to do is fill in a form and return it to us so we can understand what you are interested in, and whether what we do works for you. You will be added to a Mailing List so you can hear first about new Workshop projects, and any updates on ongoing activities.
Each workshop operates slightly differently, so if you aren't sure what it is we offer, or whether it is for you, you can attend a free "Become a Maker" session to find out what projects we currently have going on and to talk to a member of the team.

Erith Made - Open Studios
Have you ever wondered what we get up to at The Exchange? Well, why not pop into our "Open Studios" event, as part of ERITH MADE, where you can meet the team and hear about some of the incredible things that our Community Makers are making, the skills they are learning and the friendships that are blooming. Everything that is made here is in service of the community - we make things that we can use, like our chairs and tables; and we make things that we can sell, like woven plant pots and embroidered napkins.
The Workshops will also be offering little taster sessions so you can get an idea of what's involved and perhaps take the first step in developing a new craft skill.
