Become A Maker
Becoming an Exchange Maker means you can learn craft skills, be part of a making community and help us to produce products that are both useful and beautiful. You will become part of a making team, supported by Exchange staff and other volunteers, and have the opportunity to work collaboratively with professional designers and craftspeople on incredible projects.
Anyone can apply to become a Maker! All you need to do is fill in a form and return it to us so we can understand what you are interested in, and whether what we do works for you. You will be added to a Mailing List so you can hear first about new Workshop projects, and any updates on ongoing activities.
Each workshop operates slightly differently, so if you aren't sure what it is we offer, or whether it is for you, you can attend a free "Become a Maker" session to find out what projects we currently have going on and to talk to a member of the team.

A creative workshop with Ruth & Mandy from What If Community Art.
Get into the festive spirit with a joyful 2-hour session of painting, play, and handmade magic! In this warm and welcoming workshop, you’ll create your own beautiful watercolour greetings cards to celebrate the holiday season—perfect for gifting or sending a personal touch to loved ones.
Using simple and expressive watercolour techniques—like washes, brush play, and festive motifs—you’ll design a set of unique cards that capture the colour and charm of winter holidays. Think twinkling trees, wintry skies, joyful patterns, or whatever the season means to you.
No experience is needed—just a love for creativity and a dash of festive cheer. We’ll also explore eco-friendly ways to add texture and detail using recycled papers, handmade envelopes, and low-waste materials.
All materials provided – including quality watercolour supplies and everything you need to make your special cards.
Come for the creativity, stay for the community - and leave with cards full of heart.
£5 pay on the day | Spaces are limited so book your spot!
