Poetry Open Mic Evening

The Inaugural Edition: A Special Black History Month Celebration

Join us for the inaugural edition of Poetry Open Mic, a special evening celebrating Black voices, heritage, identity and culture through poetry, spoken word, storytelling and creative expression.

Come solo or with friends - everyone is welcome!

Launching during Black History Month, this gathering will bring together poets, writers, spoken-word artists and lovers of literature to share powerful words, personal stories and perspectives that deserve to be heard.

From reflections on identity and belonging to stories of resilience, history, hope and transformation, the evening will celebrate the richness and diversity of Black experiences while creating space for creativity, connection and community.

Whether you are an established poet, an emerging writer or simply someone who appreciates the power of words, you are invited to be part of this inaugural gathering. Come to share your work, discover new voices, listen and connect through the beauty and power of poetry.

One evening. Diverse voices. Powerful words. A new literary gathering begins.
